Healthcare Activists Hit The Airwaves And Streets This Weekend

With home heating costs skyrocketing this winter, taxpayers can ill afford to subsidize the health benefits for Wal-Mart’s workforce. Lawmakers in Maryland understand the economic hardships facing middle-class families and have introduced the Fair Share Health Care Act. Unfortunately Gov. Bob Ehrlich (R) vetoed the measure earlier this year. But now, with Wal-Mart Watch leading the way, there is a movement afoot to override the veto. Check out our new web page and learn how you can become involved in the campaign.
Tune in tonight for Vincent DeMarco from the Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative discussing the Fair Share Health Care Act on ”State Circle” at 7:30 pm on Maryland Public Television.
And don’t forget, tomorrow Maryland NOW will lead an anti-Wal-Mart rally in Clinton. Click here for details.
